Flash: RTTC Rajpura has been shifted to New RTTC Complex, Neelpur, Rajpura from 26.7.2004

RTTC Rajpura is situated in New RTTC Complex, Neelpur Village in Rajpura Town in its own building. RTTC Rajpura was established on 01.12.75. in a rented building belonging to Kasturba Sewa Mandir Trust in Rajpura. Now it has been shifted at New RTTC Complex, Neelpur Village, Rajpura Town w.e.f. 26.7.2004. It is situated on Patiala bye pass road near Liberty Chowk. Rajpura is situated on the main line from Delhi to Amritsar at a distance of 230 Kilometers each side and 30 Kilometers from Ambala. The RTTC Complex includes Academic & Administrative block, staff quarters, I/Q etc. "Shaheed Bhagat Singh" hostel is also located in Complex to accommodate 105 trainees. The entire campus is spread over 20 Acres of land. The build up area of RTTC Complex is 9700 Sq.Mtrs. The campus is situated away from the town i.e. far from the madding crowd and is well suited for educational institution.

1) Batch Capacity :- The training centre started with a batch capacity of 2 SBC in December 1975 which was increased to 6 SBC in Feb 1984 by diversion of 4 SBC from RTTC Ghaziabad. The training centre is required to impart induction training to JTOs, JAOs and TTAs, and refresher training to most of the Group B & C employees.

2) Infrastructure :- There are 7 Lecture Hall and 1 Seminar Hall for lecture sessions fully equipped with white boards, overhead projectors and white screens. The labs are fully equipped for imparting training to JTO Switching and JAO Induction batches. Refresher Courses like C-DOT 512 PORT SBM, CDOT 256, Computer familiarisation course, Windows, M.S. Word and Excel are being imparted.

3) Supporting Facilities :- The following facilities for teaching /labs are available :-

A library having about 2727 books pertaining to Technical General, literature, Religious and Educational subjects is existing. In addition 02 Technical Magazines/ Periodicals & 4 different Newspapers (Hindi/English) are also being purchased.
An Audio/Video lab fitted with Public address system, coloured TV, VCR is available where all the connected Video films on subjects taught are shown to the trainees.
Gestetner Copy printer, Collator and Photocopier are available for immediate requirement of the copies of the modules.

4) Staff : - RTTC was upgraded from the level of DET to the level of Sr. Principal on 29-07-94. The Sr. Principal is assisted by 3 DEs, 17 SDEs, 11 JTOs on instructional side. RTTC Rajpura is under the admn. control of GMTD Patiala & Sr. Principal RTTC is reporting to Area GM Rajpura. For the other works 2 TTA, 6 Sr.TOAs, 1 PA, 1 Telecom Mechanic, 1 Lorry driver, 11 group D are available. There is a shortage of 30 persons for other allied duties. The shortage continues for the past many years resulting in overloading of the available staff.
